Meal on Wheels Services/Tiffin Delivery

Mobile meals is one of a range of many services provided by East West Community Centre to help vulnerable people to live in their own home (independently) for as long as they are able to do so.

The service provides nutritionally balanced vegetarian meals that are delivered to the service users home on a daily basis or as the need arises. Our Mobile meals service can be provided either on a short term or longer term basis to support anyone, for example recently discharged from hospital.

Meals are delivered from Monday to Friday between 11.00 am to 2.00 pm.

Meeting Different Dietary & Cultural Needs:

Our meals are cooked (freshly) on the day and our menu is different for each day. We prepare different styles of meals to ensure we meet the requirements of all our service users whatever their cultural background such as Gujarati or Punjabi Vegetarian, for example.

Special needs can be catered for such as Vegan, Gluten-free, Diabetic Meals, Mild Meals, Soft food, Low Salt diets and diets to meet for specific medical requirements.

Service Standards:

We had received contracts from Leicester City Council to run this service and have continued to provide this essential service to our elderly and housebound. All our staff are therefore skilled and experienced running this service at the statutory and are wholly committed.

We ensure food to high quality food delivered to the service user’s home at the correct temperature Our delivery staff are trained to be helpful, efficient and courteous at all times. All our staff and volunteers are DBS checked.
